ParCeL-5/ParSSAP: A Parallel Programming Model and Library for Easy Development and Fast Execution of Simulations of Situated Multi-Agent Systems

چکیده
This paper introduces a new parallel programming model for situated multi-agent systems simulations and its parallel library implementation on shared memory MIMD parallel computers. The first goal is to allow users to easily implement situated multi-agent systems, following their natural paradigm: concurrent agent behavior definition and environment update programming. The second goal is to obtain efficient parallel executions on shared memory MIMD parallel computers, without dealing with parallel programming difficulties (such as load balancing and processes synchronization). We present our parallel programming model (ParCeL-5/ParSSAP), and the parallel algorithms we have developed for the simulation two agent percepts: direct vision and potential field detection. Finally, we give an example of complete multi-agent system programmation and its performance measurements on a 64processors SGI-Origin2000, exhibiting easy development and good speed up.

Process algebraic modeling of authentication protocols for analysis of parallel multi-session executions
Many security protocols have the aim of authenticating one agent acting as initiator to another agent acting as responder and vice versa. Sometimes, the authentication fails because of executing several parallel sessions of a protocol, and because an agent may play both the initiator and responder role in parallel sessions. We take advantage of the notion of transition systems to specify authen...
متن کاملFrom Reactive Multi-agents Models to Cellular Automata
This paper deals with the synchronous implementation of situated Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) in order to have no execution bias and to allow their programming on massively parallel computing devices. For this purpose we investigate the translation of discrete MAS into Cellular Automata (CA). Contrarily to the sequential scheduling generally used in MAS simulations, CA is a model for massively par...

Currently, the research of emergency supplies distribution and decision models mostly focus on deterministic models and exact algorithm. A few of studies have been done on the multi-level distribution network and matheuristic algorithm. In this paper, random processes theory is adopted to establish emergency supplies distribution and decision model for multi-level network. By analyzing the char...

In this paper a redundancy allocation problem is studied where for the first time the supplier selection is taken into consideration and redundant components are provided from appropriate suppliers with the most suitable offers such as discount on buying price of components, warranty length for components, things like that, so that the system reliability, profit and the warranty length proposed...
متن کاملImplementation of the direction of arrival estimation algorithms by means of GPU-parallel processing in the Kuda environment (Research Article)
Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation of audio signals is critical in different areas, including electronic war, sonar, etc. The beamforming methods like Minimum Variance Distortionless Response (MVDR), Delay-and-Sum (DAS), and subspace-based Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) are the most known DOA estimation techniques. The mentioned methods have high computational complexity. Hence using...
